I may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post. This helps me support my blog and my family at no extra cost to you.
We wanted to talk about something a little fun today: wedding props. We love to see real weddings coming in where the couple has used props as they always seem to add a really fresh dimension to the images.
delighted to be here on long time favorite blog Kiss My Tulle while Cris is
away- we were so happy to hear her exciting news too! We wanted to talk about
something a little fun today: wedding props. We love to see real weddings
coming in where the couple has used props as they always seem to add a really
fresh dimension to the images.
Props don't have to cost the earth, in fact you
can DIY lots of them- or you might even have some lying around already. Wacky
ones can distract guests (and you!) from camera nerves and provide lots of
posing options. Choices for these include thought bubble cut-outs, real
bubbles, inflatable toys, costume items such as wigs, feather boas, glasses,
fake or stick moustaches, funny hats- thrift shops are worth looking into for
some of these. Search your parents' or grandparents' house for items you might
already have. Old books, baskets, radios, record players, clocks, cameras or
other antiques can jazz up a plain guest book table or any other corner of your
venue that needs a finishing touch. A vintage bike is always fun for outdoor
Another idea we love is holding a picture of your parents on their
wedding day for a photo-within-a-photo effect. Even empty frames can be used
creatively as photo props. We love monogrammed
letters, also on the DIY list, and here's a tutorial on how
to cover them with pretty fabric. Giant
balloons don't have to cost the earth as you can see, and they can be
so pretty too. Below are a few more we love- some DIY-able and best of
all, none are over $25.
