For many people, the music at their wedding reception is one of the most important things in the wedding planning process.After all, the music is likely be one of the things that your guests remember (“BITCH! This is my song – get up there and dance with me!” or “Who the hell requested Miley?”). When it comes to choosing your wedding's DJ, there will be a lot of factors for you to consider. Do not be nervous – ask as many questions as you need to or request clarification whenever you don't understand.

There are several ways to find a great DJ: look for one at wedding fairs/expos, visit various clubs and bars in your area, Google “localDJs ”, ask for recommendations, and ask to sample the work of local radio talent. Next, narrow your selection down to your top 3-5 vendors. Then, schedule a time to “wedding crash” and see your selected vendors in action.

However, before you sign on the dotted line, you will need to do more than just boogie down at someone else's wedding. You’re going to need to ask a few questions to help you compare the actual DJ and their business.
