Today's state inspiration board is courtesy of the insanely lovely Shafonne of Pretty Pear Bride. From Shafonne, “I have only been in Indiana for a short time but it has really grown on me. There is so much history here and there are tons of symbolic things that I have learned are quintessential symbols of Indiana. One of the top things is the Indy 500 and Indy car racing. Every year around Memorial Day, the racing flags come out and Indiana is transformed into a racing hub for people from around the world. Indiana really is an all around cool state that has some of the most memorable wedding staples embedded in it.

Indiana is also famous for corn. Yes, when I first came to Indiana I had really never seen fields and fields of corn but have I gotten my taste of it for sure. And of course since we have corn as long as the eye can see it would be just natural that the king of popcorn, Orville Redenbacher was born in Indiana. The cardinal is the state bird and peonies are the state flower. And last but not least we have basketball, basketball didn't get it's start in Indiana but it did become famous in several ways here, one with the infamous Bobby Knight and the Indiana University Hoosiers, two with Larry Bird being born here and with the Basketball Hall of Fame being here. Indiana really is an all around cool state that has some of the most memorable wedding staples embedded in it."
