My family loves summer. I grew up in Alaska when summertime is outside time. My husband is an avid fisherman and Melanie LOVES playing outside. She spends hours climbing trees, playing in the dirt, and generally being a messy summertime kid. Since we all love being together outside during the summer, we've made a goal to try and go camping a lot more this year. So far, we haven't ventured far from our house. We started off with a tent in our yard and since then have taken to overnight stays at a nearby national park. The kids have been in heaven and it's been nice for the adults to unplug. We've done it enough that we have our routine down pat. Turn Melanie loose with a bucket to collect rocks (busy work), put Finn in a baby backpack, set up the tent, and then create a fire ring and hand washing solution. So handy! If you've never done one before then let me show you how to enjoy camping and summer family fun with Wet Ones® Hand Wipes!

Since camping gets dirty, I always insist on having options for everyone to get their hands clean easily. I like to have a quick cleansing option that I can slip in our hiking backpacks plus something for cleaning up our hands with by the fire. After all, my kids get MESSY after eating s'mores and playing in the dirt while on family hikes. And, as every parent knows, if you can't quickly and easily clean up your kids – it's just not going to happen! While I love the idea of building and using a full camp shower, that's just out of the question for us. So, for a quick hand wash, I keep a Wet Ones® Hand Wipes canister accessible at all times. It's great to just pull them out as I need them (post dinner, after looking for rocks in the river, or that one time when my crew discovered a sappy tree). In all honesty, we primarily use the Wet Ones® Hand Wipes because it makes everyone clean and germ free, refreshed, and ready for everything – a traditional washing up without soap and water.

Since we are often on the go while outdoors during summertime, I always keep some Wet Ones® Hand Wipes travel pack tucked into the backpack we always take hiking or camping. I like to use one of the exterior side pockets to hold the wipes since we can quickly grab them right when we need them. This is super handy when we let Melanie loose with a stack of fresh-from-the-fire s'mores! The best thing about keeping the backpack stocked with wipes is that I can always feel like the prepared mom. You know the one, that one mom who has just the thing to help out with any situation. Yeah, during our family camping trips – that mom is me. I may forget to bring the carefully prepped foil dinners or the mosquito dope but I'm always the one with wipes!
